During the interview you can type: again, hint or stop.

The questions are an estimate: the real interview may go differently.

Questions to expect in Management

  1. 1How do you manage an underperforming employee?

What the recruiter wants to hear: Conversation, clear agreements, support and what you do if it does not improve.

  2. 2Tell me about a change you led.

What the recruiter wants to hear: Why, how you handled resistance and the result.

  3. 3What is your leadership style?

What the recruiter wants to hear: Not a label but an example that shows it.

  4. 4How do you make a decision your team disagrees with?

What the recruiter wants to hear: Listen, explain, decide and then stand by it.

Answer with STAR: the situation, your task, what you did and the result. Without a result, an example falls flat.

Questions that come up in every interview

  1. 1Tell me about yourself.

What the recruiter wants to hear: Two minutes: what you do now, one result you are proud of and why this role is the logical next step. Not your life story.

  2. 2Why do you want to work here?

What the recruiter wants to hear: Something specific about this company or role that you actually looked up, linked to what you bring.

  3. 3What is your biggest weakness?

What the recruiter wants to hear: A real weakness that does not block the job, and what you actually do about it. Nobody believes 'perfectionism'.

  4. 4Tell me about a time something went wrong.

What the recruiter wants to hear: Use STAR: situation, task, action, result. Focus on what you did and what you learned, without blaming others.

  5. 5Why are you leaving your current employer?

What the recruiter wants to hear: Where you want to go, not what you are running from. Never negative about your current boss.

  6. 6What are your salary expectations?

What the recruiter wants to hear: A range backed by real salaries for this role and region, and your current pay if it helps.

  7. 7Where do you see yourself in five years?

What the recruiter wants to hear: Growth that fits what this company can offer. Show you will not leave after a year.

  8. 8Do you have any questions for us?

What the recruiter wants to hear: Always yes. Ask about the first three months, the team or why the previous person left.
